Getting to Disney Springs for opening at
10 am is a good move as most people don’t seem to be out of bed yet! It also means you can have the pick of the
spaces in the garages so your car stays nice & cool while you’re enjoying
yourselves. Shopping was moderately
successful and we got our free chocolates from Ghirardelli.
World of Disney was slightly disappointing as
they didn’t have any of the new Arendelle Aqua Spirit Jerseys in stock and we
couldn’t find the Steamboat Willie t-shirt that had caught Chris’s eye. Oh well, onwards to the next shop! We did eventually find the spirit jersey in
Trend but no sign of the t-shirt. Andrew
was also willingly dragged into the Christmas shop and we also had a look in
Art of Disney (Catherine would love to have some of this artwork in the house, but not sure that Andrew agrees!!)
Our lunch stop was Chicken Guy – this has a
good reputation for fresh but fast food and excellent dipping sauces. It didn’t disappoint and is fantastic
value. Not sure where else you can get a
freshly prepared chicken burger with fries and a drink for less than $10. However there isn’t much seating inside but
most of the outdoor seating is under cover with umbrellas.
Stuffed full of food we headed back to the
house with a quick stop at Publix to re-stock on essentials (namely milk, tea
and beer!). The afternoon was spent
chilling out around the pool, reading, swimming and cross-stitching (for some).
Our plan for dinner was to get a take-out
from Pizza Hut. Ordered online to
collect (& pay) in store which was easy.
This meant a trip out to collect but it’s not far & Catherine needed
to go to CVS to stock up on vitamins.
It also allowed Chris to do his first bit of driving in the US (he said
it’s easy!)
Dinner by the pool with a drink or two was
lovely & the boys then settled down to watch a film but only got a bit of
the way into it before they decided to call it a night ready for Epcot
tomorrow.
