Day 7: Wednesday 4 September

Overnight we had torrential rain and gusty winds as Hurricane Dorian took a minor sideswipe at us.  Orlando Airport had been closed on Tuesday and would also be closed today - why we weren't quite sure.  We've heard of keeping people safe, but many travellers had their plans seriously disrupted for what wouldn't even have ranked as a gale at home!

The villa is situated (just) in Polk County and there was an overnight curfew in Osceola County right next door between 11pm and 6am, but we didn't plan on going out.

Today was to be our Magic Kingdom day, but the Ashes third test was starting as well today so we decided to let the cricket take priority between 6am and 1pm and then move on to lunch and the Magic Kingdom for the afternoon and evening.

We wanted to take Joyce to Sizzler at Reedy Creek where we dined quite a few times in our early days of Florida visits.  Either we've moved on over the years or Sizzler has seen a decline, but we felt for a number of reasons that it would be our last visit there.  There are nicer places to eat that are better value, so this was one put down to experience.

Minnie Ears are out - but they seem to have forgotten to take them with them!

So that we know where the car is!

It's A Small World

No visit to MK is complete without a ride on the carousel!

Looking a little drunk with it by now!

Awaiting Liberty Belle

Best seat in the house!
