Today was definitely a day of two halves.
We went on our second extended visit to the Spectrum offices/shop to try to get our cable and Internet service here upgraded. Spectrum in the US are like Sky n the UK, except that here we have a cable connection. When we bought the house the service provider was a firm called Brighthouse but a few months ago they were taken over by Spectrum which is part of the Time Warner group.
After protracted negotiations with our local residents' association, it was agreed that we would get an enhanced package at a lower price but it did mean getting replacement boxes for cable TV and a new modem and router for the Internet.
Rather than go back to the Kissimmee office again we decided to go to the one they have in a place called Lakeland. Although a little further away (27 miles) they do have other shops there so it was a good excuse to do a bit of DIY and clothes shopping as well as getting some pictures etc for the Games Room here - in other words, the garage.
On our return home we spent some time trying to get the new Internet equipment to link to device already in the house!
Later on we went out for a late lunch and on to Disney' Hollywood Studios again, this time mainly to see the fireworks show at the end of the day.
Slinky Dog Ride - another multi-million dollar investment and one of Catherine's favourites. It's fast - see the blur in the picture below!
"H-o-o-o-o-ld on ....."
"Here we go!"
And to round off the evening there were some Disney pyrotechnics with projected scenes from "Star Wars"

Tuesday 28 May
It's still unseasonably hot here at the moment. We had our first big day out at one of the parks followed by lunch and some shopping for home improvements.
Very soon after we arrived home the doorbell rang and it was Larry, our neighbour opposite who came to meet us for the first time. We'd been in touch a lot by email as he is closely following any developments with planning applications for the land behind our house.
We talked for a couple of hours and during the conversation he said it was around 10 degrees (Fahrenheit) above normal for this time of year.
Well, today the highest we saw on our phones was 37 Celsius which is 98.6 Fahrenheit in old money, but it was a dry heat so not as awful as it may sound but you did need to watch out for too much sun on bare skin.
As we drove along in the car after our park visit the gauge on the dashboard did hit 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 Celsius) so the car's air con was running on max!
