Day 15: Thursday 12 September

Today was a quieter day.  We needed to go to the bank to get help to wrestle with the antiquated US banking system and we'll need to return today as we didn't happen to have our National Insurance numbers or our US Social Security numbers on us at the time (not that we can ever receive any US social security benefits, you understand, but they use those numbers to tax us if they can!)  Whatever happened to that US guy, James Otis's assertion when complaining about American colonials being taxed by British Parliament that there should be "no taxation without representation"?!

After that we had a planned visit to us from our local property managers so that we could ask them the long list of questions about running the house that we have each time we come!  They spent a lot of their time here fighting to get the electronic door lock to link back up to the app.  It was fine until the cable company insisted on our having upgraded TV, Internet and phone equipment and it has never linked back up since!

We had to leave them to it as we went off in the late afternoon for our mid-afternoon specials at Miller's Ale House - a range of meals at $8.99 each.

We then had a pleasant evening at the villa, doing odd jobs and warming down ....

Chopped steak and mash - and, wait for it, some actual vegetables!
